Prize Competition Verification Bureau
PCVB is an independent body that verifies prize-competition providers. We examine evidence of past prize fulfilment, the clarity of terms and conditions, and key operating practices. Providers that meet the PCV Standard are listed on our public register and may display the Verified Provider mark linked to a live certificate page.
Independent verification and public transparency
We verify prize-competition providers against the Gambling Commission’s Prize Draw Code and publish the outcome on a public register that consumers can check.
Fair and Verifiable Draw Process
Winners must be selected through a fair and auditable process (e.g., independent supervision or a verifiably random system) where paid and free entries have equal chances.
Player Protection
Operators must protect participants by restricting entry to adults, limiting spending, providing account controls (such as self-exclusion), and monitoring activity for signs of harm.
Transparent Rules and Entry
The mechanics of the draw must be clearly explained, including how entries work, the rules of participation, and the availability of a genuine free entry route.
Honest Prizes and Marketing
Prizes must be awarded as advertised and marketing must be responsible, accurate, and not misleading about odds, prizes, or charitable contributions.
Operator Accountability
Operators should maintain internal compliance processes, publish their standards, and ensure partners or suppliers also follow the Code.
